Guidance for local authorities on EV charging infrastructure
The Department for Transport (DfT)’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) has published comprehensive guidance for local authorities on the provision of EV charging infrastructure in their communities.
The guidance, which can be accessed here>> includes resources, links to relevant government publications and support, and advice from external bodies.
The DfT has also published its latest vision and action plan for EV charging infrastructure. At the centre of the strategy is a commitment to ensure – as a minimum – 300,000 public charge points are in operation by 2030. The Government also wishes to remove key barriers to EV driving by ensuring charge point operators are legally required to meet rigorous standards, enabling drivers to pay easily and find nearby chargers.
